Indeed !

I purchased this wonderful pattern from Helen Stubbings (see my sidebar)
and started it last July 2010...
Today, I can happily report that my quilt top is ready for handquilting

Some close-ups...

This quilt is very special to me.
I pieced and embroidered it in a particular moment of my life,
and the little sayings were very meaningful...
No need to say I enjoyed each and every stitch.
I just can't wait basting it, tomorrow evening.

And then... on to the handquilting, yeppppppeee !

THANKS for your lovely encouragements,
enjoy your sewing, my friends !

25th is Xmas Post !

had a wonderful idea :
You might have noticed that Xmas button
on my left sidebar (scroll down a little)
Being always late for my Xmas sewn items,
I found the idea so brilliant,
and I joined the group...
(you can get more info. by just clicking on the sidebar button)

My big Xmas project, this year, is "The Wish Quilt"
designed by Bronwyn Hayes, published in Australian Homespun,
and I'll post at least one block
on the 25th, each month....
Hmmm...... might be ready for next Xmas, this year !

Here are stitcheries 1 and 2
Aren't they cute, indeed ?
I just LOVE that background fabric,
it makes me think of falling snow...

In thoughts with Australia...

Terrible floodings keep going in Australia, causing disastrous damages,
and even death...
In thoughts with all those families loosing everything,
let us be generous and share what we can,
be it a prayer, a thought, or a generous auction...

Actually, some of our talented Australian quilting sisters are offering
some beautiful items for auction,
in order to help as much as we can.

Here's the button to check.
You can even do more by placing it on your own blog...
and the referred link :

Up to now, I have listed some fellow Australian bloggers, dealing with these auctions

Daisy Quilt
The Last Piece
Julia's Place
Ann's Quilting Journey
Once Upon A Quilt
Jenny of Elefantz
Willowberry Designs
A House In The Country
I'm sure there are many more, check your files !

The Gum Tree Designers have just launched the appeal to help fellow crafters who have lost everything in the floods. Visit their blog HERE for details on how you can help !
Also, I remember having visited an Australian blog, collecting heart quilt blocks
for the purpose...
Unfortunately I lost the link??
If someone could help me, I'd be grateful.

Saturday... Klosjes day !

First klosjes report, this year.
Some of my New Year's reflection concerned those "klosjes".
Just like hexies, these are a looong term project,
and it looks like they're "planted" on my working table
(if only they could grow and multiply by themselves! LOL)

As an early riser, I decided making 2 (maybe 3) of them,
each morning, while enjoying my first cuppa,
when the house is still asleep ...
I focused on red and yellow this week

"Shoot for the moon, even if you miss
 you'll land among the stars"

One of my goals, this year, is to stitch 3 flowers a week...
So here is the first trio for 2011

Enjoy your sewing, dear friends !
