WHAT ' S NEW PUSSYCAT ?

Well, it's raining cats & dogs here, in my little corner of the world, but :>)

I'm singing in the rain !

My PSP's (read "Partially stitched projects" - nice isn't it ?) are showing some good progress, and I'm quite happy. One stitch at a time... (photos soon). And THANKYOU sooo much, my friends, for your sweet comments (I'll skip over some mean, ironical, anonymous ones, that I immediately deleted - life is too short to worry about that :>)
Henri, the postman, rang my door quite often, these past two weeks.

First he brought the taxes envelopes....
Then he did better, much, much better !

You may recall when I fell in love with Kathie 's gorgeous tumbler quilt, published in the 2008 American Patchwork & Quilting Calendar.
Of course I left a comment on Kathie's blog, sharing my intention to make that quilt, regretting that reproduction fabrics were so hard to find here. Not only did Kathie answer my comment, but she asked for my address, as she wished to send some reproduction fabrics to me (WOW !). And look what came to me !

I'm sooo grateful. THANKS, Kathie !

And the fairy tale goes on...

I got another email from Karrin, also asking for my address, and saying she would be thankful if I accepted some repro fabrics, in order to help her reduce her stash (such kind, delicate words!)... Of course I refused ! LOL LOL So Henri rang my door again...

OMG ! THANK YOU, Karrin, you really made my day (and so many more).

These two packs of fabrics are sooo beautiful. It took me some days/weeks, before starting to use them. I simply couldn't bear cutting through them. Of course, I've started now, and I'm enjooooooying !

No, I'm not finished...

Have you ever visited Diana ? Oh, she's sooo good at photos, and she's very crafty, too ! I noticed some beautiful notebooks that she's making out of recycled magazine pictures and paper.

And I commented.
And she answered.
And she asked for my address.
And then Henri rang my door.
(hey, this could make a great song, too!)

THANKS, Diana, you're an artist. You'll be in my thoughts each time I'll use these notebooks
(though I still don't dare)...

I said I'm not finished... HeeHee

Hanne, my dear Norwegian friend, sent me such a cuuuute Pay It Forward present ! It was like a breeze of springy air in my house. THANKS, Hanne, the little bird is now hanging the door knob of my personnal cupboard, and it brings a smile to my face each morning :>)
(there was also a gorgeous heart glass bead ---> it's safe in my bedroom, in the treasures box , but everyone (read DH) is asleep now....)

Katherine, Tracey, Cdnj, and Gudrün, I haven't forgotten you (.... surprise !)

This PIF chain is so funny, that I did it again : when visiting Christine, I read that she was needing some "players" so I "played" ! I guess you all know the rules, now.

So the first 3 friends to enter a comment on this post will get a little something from me in the 6 coming months, under the promise to Pay It Forward .

Come on, it's fun and it feels sooo good !

Hem.....How come that strange feeling that I'm forgetting something ??? Aaaah, yes I know ! But no : this is still a "secret"... until next time. Stay tuned !

AN INVENTORY AND A DECISION

MusingsI'm convinced that we can learn lessons from most events in our ordinary life, and tis bad flu was not an exception. Actually I felt like "sorting out my things" - read my UFO's - :>)

Do you enjoy sorting out your UFO's ? I DON'T : they're pointing where it "hurts" in me ! But I was determined to make a true inventory : no complaints, no bla-bla explanations, only the exact list. I first sorted them in 5 piles :

- big quilts (8) (to be hand quilted)

- throws (3)

- wallhangings (1)

- stitcheries (3)

- crosstitch (2)

And then I cried (5 minutes :>)... Ridiculous, isn't it ? I totally agree. I think I felt kind of "overbooked", discouraged, not knowing where to start, etc, etc....... I know, some friends among you will tell me that 17 UFO's is nothing and there's no need to play any drama. But I also know myself, and these 17 "teasing needles" are way too much for me.

So, the best thing to feel better is to smile and take action ! I know I'm a good starter, now I want to be a good finisher :>)

Consequently, let me introduce my oldest UFO (dating 2002) and the first on my list :

" A Year with Sunbonnet Sue".

One block has still to be done (July), and another needs some more appliques (December).

The fabrics for sashings, borders, and (red) cornerstones are ready and pre-cut.

This doesn't mean I won't have any new project, (how could I stop dreaming ?). But I'll wisely put them in a big file, taking notes, photos, selecting fabrics & tips.... and keep my stitches for my UFO's. As most of them are to be handquilted and quite big, I will however allow myself some portable projects ---> stitcheries, and a tumbler quilt in repro fabrics that I wish to handpiece....

Wish me luck !

I couldn't finish this post without showing this new pic. of my best encouraging pal : ANDREA, my grandson (notice the curly hair !)...

DON'T MISS THIS ONE !

I just got a very nice email from Suze, which brought me to visit her blog (you know the story : we just follow friends, when strolling through Blogland :>) .... and what do I see ? ? ? ?

THIS :

Wow, wow ! So I went to Old Red Barn Co. (you know the story :>) and certainly didn't regret it ! Such a nice blog, that I didn't know before (but put right away on my favourites list), and a very nice and generous lady quilter, too (do we know any quilter who isn't ? ? ?)....

So, come on folks : try your luck... and if you don't, then cross your fingers and toes for me ! HeeHee :>)

FEVERS !

The flu

I had some premices : last week a bad sinusitis, that infected my left eye (I looked like having played in a boxing match ! LOL), now fever...

Warm tea, comforting homemade chicken soup (good for the soul, too :>), fire in the chimney, aspirin, and my favourite quilt to cuddle under... could be worse .

BOM FEVER...

I prefer this one ! Actually, it seems that some cute free stitchery BOM's are being organized by some talented (and generous) blogging friends :

- you are certainly aware of Bea's beautiful stitchery BOM - we're now starting block nr 3 (March), but I'm sure you can still easily catch up :>)

- and now, starting this month, Lynette is celebrating her first year blogging with a cute free BOM stitchery project, called "Noah's Ark" !

Go and have a look at it, it's sooo cute. I couldn't resist and here is my first block. Come on and join the fun !

Cute, simple and easy : exactly what I needed !

:>)

Let me also thank you so much for your kind comments. I really appreciate each one of them, I'm feeling honoured and consider them as a blessing. You are all such fantastic friends ! I'm sorry I didn't answer all of them lately, nor did I leave many comments...

I'll catch up soon !

SPRING IS IN THE AIR ....

Last week, I found some good signs of awakening in my garden and I felt like sewing something about spring :>)
I needed a short term project, so I looked into my stitcheries folders and decided to stitch that cute "Heart of Spring" by Crab-Apple Hill.
Not only did I enjoy to the most doing it, but I think it will be very cute, hanging in our-soon-to-come new kitchen....

What do you think ?

It was just filled with light batting a few minutes ago, and still needs some "massage" to get it's definite shape.

Then I thought it would be nice to stitch the heart of every season, and hang the right one through the year...

A quick check in my folders revealed that I do have the "Heart of Autumn" as well as the "Heart of Christmas"....... but NO "Heart of summer" !?!

My numerous searches through the Web were unsuccessful (it's a pattern from 2002), and I was wondering if anyone among you could eventually help me, pleazzzzzze ??? :>)

I'm ready to buy it, or exchange it.... as long as I can stitch it and so have the four seasons complete collection.

THANKS, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY

:>)
