"I DO..."

On Wednesday, 6th June 1973, we said : "YES"

We were so young (22), and had to face so many problems with my parents....

We started in a very small appartment, with a kitchen table, two chairs, a second-hand bed, a bottle of champagne from my grandmother, and so much love....

Now 34 years and 4 kids later, we still do... (well, most of the time ! LOL)

As everyone, I guess, we lived tremedous joys, sorrows, quarrels, challenges...

I think the best thing we learned trough all these years, was to become friends, I mean real friends.

Of course, I still get on his nerves, he still gets on mine (once a week is our average), but this is now "part of the game".

Life transformed us, made us grow up,and yet we still love what each of us has become ... which is all that matters !

A few days ago, I had a giggle with Nonno, my father-in-law :

I told him what my grandmother said to me, the day of our marriage :

"Darling, always remember, that the art of marriage consists in making your husband believe he's on command !"

Nonno then said : "I had told Gaetano exactly the same thing !"...........

  16. What a beautiful looking couple you made! Best wishes on this very important day. We were the same as you, each 22, thinking we knew so much and learning we really knew so little. That will be 38 years ago this month - I can hardly believe it's been that long!

  25. You are so beautiful! (Then and now!) Happy anniversery! 34 years is a great accomplishment these days. I still have another 7 years to go before we hit 34. I had to laugh at your grandmother's quote. Once when Tetsu was angry at me about something and was grumbling my mom asked what he was saying. "I haven't learned enough Japanese to know and it's probably better I stay ingnorant."
