Twenty Fourteen
with a big F like...
I sorted out the UFO's stack :
some of them really deserve  focus,
some can still wait ,
and some others will never get done,
as my tastes have changed.

I won't set too much optimistic plans
that would simply fall into Forgetland, sooner or later...

I just selected two of them,
on which I can commit to focus until finish
and I've put them on my working table :
(I guess you'll often see these in my future posts)

Knowing myself, I'm sure some other new temptations
will wink at me in the meantime,
not to mention my weekly bee with a special project,
as well as some crochet
(my new addiction)

but at least I want to finish two quilts
before going to...
The 20th European Patchwork Show
in Sainte-Marie-Aux-Mines
(Alsace - France)
from 18th to 21st September.

DH and I have already booked our hotel for a week
in a very picturesque village, close to the show
(we got one of the last rooms available, 9 months ahead, can you believe that???)

Enough said,
back to my needle & thread...& dreams...

Enjoy your sewing, my friends!

The time has come again
for new beginnings...
Isn't that exciting ?

I wish you all,
beautiful new mornings,
special new projects,
precious new joys in family,
new daily blessings,
new accomplishments,

a new look on your beloved ones, new healthy decisions, etc, etc, etc... but above all, I wish you, from the bottom of my heart,

To all my blogging friends,
Heartful wishes !

Looks like my blog issues might have been solved by now,
so what better moment than Christmas for posting a new message ?

Infected !

This morning, as usual, I went into my blog to check my "reading list", and see what my bloggers friends have published... (For this, I simply click on the red B of Blogger on the left side of my blog header)
To my BIG surprise (and disgust) I then discovered more than 20 PORNO messages and pictures, coming from a certain blog, named ".Santi Yago - Flirty Not Dirty ", which of course I didn't open.

YET, I'm curious to know how someone could enter into my Bloglist and pollute it like this ????

I'm gonna STOP using this "Friendship Threads" blog (created 7years ago), send a complaint note to Blogger... And then I'll think about creating another Blog, but certainly not with the same server.

have you already experienced such a bad trick ??  I hope you didn't, it s VERY FRUSTRATING AND DISCOURAGING...

On the road again...

To our Spanish nest,
until mid-November, probably...

In my luggage, I tossed :
- little baskets to handpiece,
- hexie stars to baste,
- appliqué,
- and a crochet project for a good measure

Of course, I'll be following your blog posts!
In the meantime,
take care and enjoy your sewing,
my friends !

Monday Morning Star Count (2)

Inspired by Jessica at "Life Under Quilts", I just finished my first star early this morning...

I'm very pleased with the result,
although still pondering whether I'll use a dark or light background ???
Here it is on both options :

Your opinions would be highly and gratefully appreciated! (Note : the background fabrics on the pictures are not necessarily the ones I'd use. It's just to get an idea)

I'm planning 7 stars in total.
This first one will be placed (appliqued) in the center,
surrounded with 6 other stars, each one of a specific color.
The border will be made of multicolored hexies,
as a reminder of the central star...
At least, this is how I see it up to now, HeeHeeeee ;>)

Back from Spain...

Hellooooo, dear friends !
We're back to Belgium, until next September,
in order to avoid the big Spanish heat,
and taking this opportunity to "refresh" our Belgian home
(painting, wallpapers, etc...)
Some things need to be done, from time to time, don't they ?

Of course, we had a wonderful time there,
and I must admit I didn't sew so, so much - ahem! -
Oh well, I did what I could, this is no competion, right?

Hereunder is a picture of my "Dutch Treat" project,
that I'm making in memory of my beloved mother.
This is reverse applique and I enjoy it very much.
One block at a time, I'll get there...

I need 64 blocks (8x8), out of which 38 are ready, up to now

My Spanish quilter friends are getting crazy with EPP,
and watching them going everywhere with their little projects
made my fingers itching for starting a new EPP quilt, HeeHee...

I had the perfect new companion with this book.
Do you know Jessica, of Life under Quilts ?
Oh, she really did a wonderful job with this book!
It's a must for every English Paper Piecing lover,
and full of inspiration...
Jessica is now starting a new quilt, made of 7 hexies stars,
and I've decided to follow her.
So here are my 7 stars, cut and pinned on big white sheets of paper
(paper table cloth, actually)

I guess there will be a center star, which I chose to be multicolored :

and then one of each color :

It took me 2 afternoons to sort out my fabrics and cut them,
but now I can paper baste and piece to my heart's content!

Well, this was quite a looong post,
I'd better go back to my sewing...

Have a good time, my friends !
